All I know is I lived in a very gay part of town during a wave of gay hate crimes ages ago and I remember walking down the street, very close to my gay friends in some misguided attempt to protect them (the thinking was they would not be hurt if they were seem with a female - I was young).

Is life safer now for them? I hope so. I really hope so.

OK, but please go to a retirement home/rest home somewhere close and look at
old guys with tatoos--old sailors are always good to ask to see. Well, maybe
a VA home for sailors, then.

I am NOT telling/urging/begging you not to do it. Just look.

I understand the need to make the statement. (In fact, the one band so far
is quite striking.) I don't want you to someday regret it. God knows there
is plenty else in one's life to regret (I am the queen, here).

Heh, I've had a few friends go far more 'mother' than that. Finger wagging, "You didn't get my approval" etc.

If I end up an old person covered in tattoos, so be it. I love this band, and I know exactly where I'm taking it from here. It's going to be a very large piece of work when I'm done, and be on more than just my arm.

thanks so much for turning me on to this! I especially love that the recipe doesn't call for any egg replacer anything like that. I am a relatively new vegan and definately a baking novice... this totally looks like something I could handle!

Good to read this but sad that just a few minutes ago, I read that Gannet's profit dropped 60 percent last quarter. My dad worked for the Daily News in NY so I share some of the pride and appreciation for our papers. We must not let them fade away.

I kept watching waiting for something funny to happen. This is what YouTube (and "funniest home video" shows) have done to me, lol! I love taking tourists to the tomb. Give them some bright red lipstick to plant a kiss. Ahem, I'm kidding of course, it's not actually "permitted" to deface the tomb in any way....as you can see, everyone follows the rules. Oscar would approve!

I wish I could have verbalized this to an old roommate of mine who did that. I just knocked heatedly on his door and tried to explain to him that I could still 'hear' his music and TV even after he turned it down the first time I was rudely awoken on one of many, many nights like this.

On point. We live in different towns but we might as well live in the same one.

I am going to print this out - change a few terms, sub-woofer to voices; bedroom wall to your freaking house and nail it to the door of my new neighbours homestead a few doors down (who apparently my neighbour right next door already can't stand).
